A beautiful garden city

A garden city built in the mid-19th century, based on plans drawn up by the Comte de Choulot, Le Vésinet is a haven of tranquillity. Its extensive parks, large lakes and rivers give it a calm and relaxing atmosphere on the outskirts of Paris.

The Vésinet was also the birthplace of many famous people from very different fields. Internationally famous writers, painters and musicians as well as celebrities from the worlds of sport, music hall and film have lived or stayed here over the centuries.

Take a stroll around the parks and waterways and look up at the majestic façades of some splendid houses, some of which can be visited on special occasions such as Journées Européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days).

Follow one of the recommended walks around the city or let yourself be swept along through the streets and lanes as the feeling takes you.

You can also sit on the terrace or by the fireplace in one of the city’s many cafés and restaurants or continue your day with a night at the theatre or cinema. If you want to extend your stay, enjoy being pampered in one of the hotels or guesthouses.
