In the 19th century, Napoélon III, passionate about archeology, cleared the Château de Compiègne of its ancient vestiges and installed them at the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, which then became the National Archeology Museum.
With the presentation of the imperial history of the city, visit the Piette room, dedicated to the collection of the passionate archaeologist: Edouard Piette (1827-1906)
