Coming from a family of artists and intellectuals, Laurence began painting as an autodidact at the age of 30. The painting represented for her an urgency to translate the flood of sensations she perceived in contact with things.
"All my work tends towards this research: If each person appears to me in all its violence or distress, how to keep in touch with the energy of the first moment and how to translate these impressions without turning them off.
Always in the same process, I only work on large formats to paint on a human scale and establish a relationship between the viewer and the painting that is on its scale.
She also represents a lot of plants, Nature is one of her sources of inspiration that she translates both in painting and in ceramics where she works the cloisonné enamels technique.
