Established in the mid-19th century on the Ile des Impressionnistes at Chatou, the Maison Fournaise was a reputed "guingette" (open-air café) and the haunt of artists and boaters.
A presentation with commentary of the history of the hamlet: the Seine riverbanks, the Fournaise restaurant, the museum and the temporary exhibitions that it hosts in the summer season.
The visit of the museum will be followed by the discovery of the Bessières Gallery, a space dedicated to contemporary art.
