Discover the Hameau Fournaise in Chatou

For more than forty years, the Friends of Maison Fournaise have been passionately dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of this iconic landmark of Impressionism. Founded in 1981, the association keeps alive the memory of the many artists, writers and boating enthusiasts who helped shape the island of the Impressionists in Chatou. Through its research, publications, lectures and cultural initiatives, it plays an active role in promoting this remarkable heritage. The association’s volunteers also welcome visitors to their exhibition space on the ground floor of Maison Levanneur, directly opposite Maison Fournaise. Here, visitors can discover historical documents, reproductions of artworks and fascinating information about the site and its famous visitors, including Renoir and Maupassant. A lively and fascinating way to discover Chatou from a different perspective! The exhibition space is open every Sunday from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., and by appointment at +33 (0)6 85 11 85 59. It offers a wonderful opportunity to meet passionate local historians and learn more about the world of the Impressionists and the history of Chatou.
