Valérie Auriel is an almost pure Vésigondine, since she arrived in this city at the age of three. She has practically always lived there, apart from a two-year break in Russia, at the beginning of the 90s, which was the trigger of her vocation. The discovery of Russian underground artistic circles made her want to take up brushes and pencils herself.
Back in France, she enrolled in the Ateliers Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris. She trained in the techniques of painting, engraving, drawing from a live model with the artists François Bard, Antoni Ros Blasco, Antoine Pétel, Michel Village...
She has been exhibiting for fifteen years and is represented by the Atelier Espace Unique gallery in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
The plant universe is one of his favorite themes. But it is not a question of a realistic nature, rather of a dreamed, fantasized nature.
The artist finds his inspiration in the forests of fairy tales, the abundant jungles of tropical greenhouses, the multicolored gardens… In these places, strange encounters take place. Wild animals interact with humans, women become magicians.
From memories, personal photographs, literary and artistic references, mixing collages and painting, Valérie creates a mysterious and mischievous universe.
Through these symbolic and dreamlike evocations, his objective is to recall this fragile beauty of nature, which seduced our child's eyes so much, and which we often forget, once adults.
