Welcome to the Rowing Club Port-Marly! Created in 1948, this rowing club proposes sessions for recreational rowers as well as competition goers.
Having won 16 titles and 6 gold medals since 2000, the club is a familiar participant in competitions. But the recreational section has also grown over the last twenty years and now boasts around 200 members. After an initial observation period, this leisure activity is now well-established in the club's management and has developed alongside the competition category. Together, recreational and competitive club members continue to promote the rowing club among young audiences, and links have emerged naturally between the two categories.
While experts can enjoy excursions organised by the leisure section, our recreational rowers, many of whom are relative latecomers to the discipline, are increasingly keen to have a go at competing, encouraged by the multitide of races now proposed for veterans! So why not give it a try!
Beginners can row from the age of 12. Depending on age and personal objectives, the club can propose different rowing categories (competition, recreational rowing and excursions). Rowing is suitable for most people (men and women). It is an all-round sport that is non-traumatic for the joints and provides cardiovascular benefits.
