This architectural gem, built in the early 20th century, witnessed numerous cultural, festive and historical events before becoming the Lycée international de Saint-Germain, welcoming its first pupils in 1952.
Its first owner was the inventor of the famous Valda pastille, Henri-Edmond Canonne, before the house was bought in 1928 by the rich Maharajah of Indore and became notable for its lavish receptions.

It was used from early on in the Second World War, first as a hospital for colonial troops, then commandeered by the German army, then as a meeting place for the Allied Forces at the time of liberation. During its many lives, it has also been used as a film set.
