On this tour, you’ll discover the historic centre of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, its 17th and 18th century town houses and streets with the typical names that give this royal town its charm.
Also worth discovering are the collections of the municipal museum, with the Maison Natale Claude Debussy, the Royal Apothecary’s and the Musée Ducastel-Véra. The town’s must-see site, the Musée d’Archéologie Nationale is also open to groups, as is the surrounding estate. And to extend your visit, don’t miss the Maurice Denis departmental museum.
In summer, the Tourist Office offers guided cruises on the Seine, departing from Chatou, Croissy-sur-Seine, Carrières-sur-Seine and Le Pecq. Lasting from 1hr 30mins to 3 hours, these cruises take in the islands between Bezons and Le Pecq, passing through the locks at Bougival and/or Chatou. They can be commented on by a guide, or include lunch on board.
Follow the guide on cultural walks in the footsteps of the Impressionist painters or through forest trails and along the banks of the Seine.
Enhance the walk with a guided tour of one of our sites or a lunch in town.
