Espace Paul-et-André-Vera: a little Art Deco temple
The Espace Paul-et-André-Vera, a museum and temporary-exhibition space, pays tribute to these brothers and artists from Saint-Germain, whose talents left their mark on the Art Deco movement.
Thanks to André Vera's donation to the town in 1968, you can discover artistic treasures by Paul (tapestries, ceramics, illustrations, watercolours) as well as garden-design projects created by the two brothers during the interwar years.
The interiors of their dining room and study have been recreated as exact copies of those at La Thébaïde, their Saint-Germain-en-Laye property, which was entirely refurbished by the architect and interior decorator Jean-Charles Moreux. The collection of works is presented annually on a rotational basis.
The space regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, such as the one in 2017, which was devoted to the artist Hieronymus Bosch and his famous work The Conjurer.
Every day throughout the year between 2 pm and 6 pm.
Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Free of charge.
