Why did you choose this profession?
Ceramist is not my original profession. I made pottery as a child, then nothing for many years, very busy with studies, work, family. When I felt the need to take time for myself, I naturally turned to ceramics. No other activity had allowed me until then to lock myself in a bubble of well-being, forgetting everything else. I very quickly felt the need to deepen my knowledge in order to become autonomous in the realization of my projects. So several years ago, I followed professional training at the Atelier Chemins de la Céramique and obtained my CAP in ceramic turning. This training allowed me to approach the different techniques of shaping clay and decorating pieces, but also to train myself in the animation of workshops. Since then, ceramist has gradually become my new profession!
Do you offer workshops or training? I offer courses and thematic workshops for young and old throughout the year, in small groups only.
What are your ambitions for the future? I have had my own workshop for a short time, so my ambition is very simple: take the time to explore, create, and develop my activity over time. By way of illustration, I embark on the search for new enamels, which I make myself. It's a long-term job, with a lot of failures... and some nice surprises!
What do you like most about your job? The serenity it gives me, a bit like a relaxation session! The requirement of the material which requires patience and rigour. The possibility of transmitting and sharing a passion. Ceramics is a very vast playground, so I hope to have several lives like cats, because I suspect that only one will not be enough to explore it!
