On the first floor of the Château Chanonier hides a little gem: the Salon Romantique. Within its 19th-century music-room interior, the Salon Romantique houses some real treasures, including a remarkable collection of period pianos (1800–1850).
The instruments on display in the Salon Romantique, with their metal strings and wooden cases, invite visitors to reconnect with the intimate sounds – recalled in many accounts of Chopin's playing – of a time when music was shared with family and friends around a piano.
More than a museum, the Salon Romantique is committed to being a lively cultural venue where people can hear the exceptional sounds of these instruments and compare them with those of modern instruments.
The Pleyel-Chopin association regularly proposes masterclasses, conferences, dedications, recitals, etc.

All year round, every Sunday between 3 pm and 7 pm.
Closed exceptionally on January 1st, Easter Monday, Feast of the Ascension, Whit Monday, May 1st, May 8th, July 14th, August 15th, November 1st, November 11th and December 25th.
Closed during Zone C school holidays.
