Take a cruise at Saint Germain Boucles de Seine

This weekend we’re setting sail, grabbing a straw hat and sunglasses, a picnic basket and heading off on a cruise! The captain greets us, we settle in, the foghorn blows to signal the boat’s departure, the barge rocks and rolls away from the shore. So here we are, off on a cruise along the Seine to discover the islands. They may not be the Caribbean or the Marquesas Islands, but you can still get away from it all in just one day, less than 20 km from Paris. Want to know more?

From June to September Embark on one of our cruises

With the arrival of fine weather, the Saint Germain Boucles de Seine Tourist Office invites you to discover the area’s natural and historical heritage in an original and relaxing way: by embarking on guided cruises on the Seine. These river cruises, which are accessible to all, offer a unique perspective on the lush green landscapes and charming towns along the river. Four strategically-located river stops mark the route and serve as departure points for these excursions, which last between one and three hours. Whether you’re looking for a bucolic interlude, a cultural outing or a relaxing moment with the family, these cruises are the ideal opportunity to rediscover the Seine and its hidden treasures.

 Our picnic cruises

This summer, enjoy a moment out of time with our picnic cruises, an ideal experience for enjoying the fine weather with friends, family or lovers.

From Le Pecq or Carrières-sur-Seine, embark on a peaceful stroll along the Seine, settle in on board, and let nature put on the show. In the shade of the poplars and to the slow rhythm of the river, you’ll discover another facet of the Île-de-France: greener, calmer, more poetic.

Bring your packed lunch or homemade brunch, get out the tablecloth, toast on board and enjoy! You’ll sail through the landscapes that inspired the Impressionists, between secret islands, flower-filled riverbanks and elegant country houses.

 Our guided cruises

Set off on a 1h30 guided cruise on the Seine from Chatou or Croissy-sur-Seine, and discover the landscapes that inspired the greatest Impressionist painters, such as Renoir and Monet. Let yourself be guided along the banks of the Seine and immerse yourself in the artistic world of the Belle Époque.

At Chatou, admire from the river the famous hamlet Fournaise, a true gem of Impressionist heritage, where Renoir painted the famous “Déjeuner des canotiers”. Continue the cruise to Bougival, passing through its picturesque locks.

From Croissy-sur-Seine, the boat will take you to Le Pecq, with a breathtaking view of Ile Corbière, a veritable haven for birds and nature lovers.

A unique experience combining art, history and nature, ideal for culture buffs, families and the curious looking for a relaxing moment along the water.

Feedback

We loved this cruise on the Seine from Chatou! The trip was both relaxing and full of history. The guide was fascinating, taking us back to the time of the Impressionists with lots of anecdotes about Renoir, Monet and the places they painted. Special mention should go to the view of the Fournaise hamlet – it’s magical to see it from the water! A moment out of time, perfect for a couple or a family outing. 100% recommended!

What if you experienced the Seine differently? Travel back in time on the Seine, aboard exceptional boats

With the Sequana Association, treat yourself to an authentic river trip full of charm, aboard carefully restored old boats, just like in the days of the Impressionists.

Sailing with Sequana is much more than just a trip on the water:
it’s an immersion in history, a journey to the heart of the Belle Époque, between elegance, art of living and river heritage.

Why choose a cruise with Sequana?

  • A living heritage: each boat is a collector’s item, restored by enthusiasts using period techniques.
  • An exceptional natural setting: the landscapes between Chatou, Croissy, Le Pecq and Carrières are among the most beautiful in the Seine Valley, steeped in history and poetry.
  • A friendly atmosphere: on board, the welcome is warm, the exchanges rich, and the experience accessible to all.
  • A direct link with the Impressionists: Renoir, Monet and Sisley painted these shores – you’ll rediscover them through the eyes of a 19th-century canoeist.

As a family, with friends or as a couple, the trip becomes a moment of relaxation, culture and total escape. Weigh anchor, disconnect, contemplate… and leave with our heads full of light.
